I'M LIVING PROOF
Who We Are
Changing the Narrative
Enough Cries is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing services that assist and encourage women and children survivors of domestic violence. Our mission is to encourage those impacted by domestic violence overcome their trauma and live their healed whole lives. We want to see a world free of domestic violence!
About Our Founder
Maritza Gabriel is a survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault. At her lowest point, Maritza attempted suicide. She had bought into her multiple abusers' narrative about her diminished self-worth and value. It was then that Maritza had her epiphany: Abuse reflects on the perpetrator, not on the victim. She would fight back against her abusers by choosing not only to live, but to thrive.
Maritza has delivered her message of hope to teens and women across the Greater Washington DC area through her participation in multiple volunteer groups, and presentations at local high schools and youth centers. Maritza has also been nominated with a humanitarian ward on 2016. She has been featured on local radio stations, spoken in Pittsburg, Baltimore, Virginia and most recently, she traveled to North Carolina to speak at the Onslow Women's Center. She has had a successful career in the dental field for over 25 years.
Maritza volunteers with ACTS in Dumfries, who provides assistance in all forms from education to basic needs to those in need within our communities. She also volunteers to mentor young girls at the boys and girls club at multiple locations within our community. Maritza was given a proclamation by the mayor Derrick Wood from the town of Dumfries. Lastly she was nominated for the 2024 Prince William County Influential Women Award and featured twice in the Prince William Living magazine.
She founded her non-profit organization, Enough Cries, in 2014 to encourage women that they too can be survivor. She always puts GOD first in everything she does. Her love for people is truly admirable.

Jeanne McElvaney
“You can recognize survivors of abuse by their courage. When silence is so very inviting, they step forward and share their truth so others know they aren’t alone.”
